AN OPEN LETTER TO EVERY MOTHER AND FATHER... This is Donavon Green, age 20 years old. Going out the door as any normal Son or Daughter would do... Only on 7/25/06, something unforeseen and horrible happened to him as well as 5 other children... as you will read below... Donavon never came home... I read a plea of help from his Mother... Total strangers to me... yet for some unexplained reason... GOD placed it on my heart to reach out to her and to offer my love and support to her and her family... I was connected to them... My heart sank as deep as one Mother's heart can... I felt her loss... I cried her tears... my heart ached with an unbelievable amount of pain... I vowed to GOD, at that very moment, because of this horrible tragedy... through the loss, of their precious Son Donavon... I would do anything and everything I could to help this family try to take one day at a time... and hopefully raise enough funds to pay for the funeral costs... and the bills that were coming in and piling up faster than the speed of light... My name is Shiela Sheets, my husband's name is John, we have been married for 4 yrs. I have 5 kids, 4 boys and a girl. I also have 4 step son's. We had lived a normal life, living week to week, paying our bills, just a normal family. Then on July 25th, 2006 my/our lives changed forever... My oldest son, Donavon Green, 20 yrs. old, was a passenger in a Blazer that ran off the road and hit a tree. The Blazer burst into flames and killed my baby. It also took the lives of 5 other children. This accident changed so many lives. Our baby's had to be identified by dental records. The driver didn't have any insurance so we had no help with funeral expenses, except for the $1,000 the auction was able to raise. Not only do we have all the funeral expenses but we are so far behind on bills due to the work we took off I can't get caught back up, I am so far behind I'm getting shut off notices. I really need some help. I have never asked for any help so this is really hard for me. Steuben County, IN - Authorities are still trying to identify six people killed Tuesday morning in a fiery crash. The crash happened around 4:30AM on a rural road near Fremont in Steuben County, which is about 45 miles north of Fort Wayne. Police say an SUV lost control and hit a tree. The vehicle burst into flames, killing all six people inside. Police say the bodies were so badly burned, it will take some time to identify the victims by dental records. Some days I still don't believe he's really gone. I took 3 weeks off of work, my husband took 2 weeks off and Donavon's dad took 3 weeks off also. Of course they only pay you for 3 days so we are in a awful way. A local woman, God bless her, put together an auction to help, but unfortunately it didn't raise very much money. It was split between all 6 family's so it didn't amount to much. My Donavon, loved sports, and collecting coins. He was getting ready to sign up for the national guard, he said "Don't worry mom I will be just fine..." He was a mama's boy, He couldn't go a day without calling me. God, I miss him so much!
